Dorset artists we’ve recently featured include Jane Chapman, an incredibly successful illustrator of children’s books, equestrian artist Katie Scorgie in her Dorset studio and renowned portrait painter Michael Taylor, known also for the ‘Sheer beauty, weight and intensity of his still lifes’, and acclaimed Dorset potter Jonathan Garratt.

In addition to artist profiles, our Dorset art section also features reviews of local exhibitions and events such as a Dorset Art Weeks round up (one of the largest Open Studio Events in the country, with over 250 studios opening their doors every other year, showcasing a huge array of works from paintings, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery, sculpture and modern crafts) and the annual FORM from Sculpture By The Lakes (the multi-award-winning sculpture show with works by more than 35 leading contemporary sculptors on exhibition throughout 26 acres of lakes, rivers, gardens, and woodlands.  We believe that art is meant to be experienced, and we’re always on the lookout for the latest shows and installations happening in the region.
