SUMMARY:‘Looking at Texture’
DESCRIPTION:Dorset Button Workshop\n‘Looking at Texture’ using ethically sourced yarns \nFor all of you who have followed me on Instagram and/or Facebook know who much I enjoy working with textiles and different yarns. This workshop\, ‘Looking at Texture’\, is designed using some of my favourite supplier\, Yarn Yarn\, and we will be using ethically sourced yarn supplied by Yarn Yarn. Their mission is to provide handmade ethical yarns and craft supplies to creative communities worldwide. All their yarns are produced in remote villages in northern India. \nEach participant will receive their own box of different yarns specially prepared by Yarn Yarn and we will be working on a large 30cm wooden ring to show off the full extent of the texture these yarns can make. \nThis whole day workshop will take place in the Anna McDowell Garden Room at Gold Hill Museum\, Shaftesbury\, Dorset and costs £65.00 each. This includes all materials\, instructions (including a box of up to fifteen different yarns) and refreshments on arrival. Lunch is not included. However\, participants can either bring their own or order lunch prior to the start of the workshop. Details on how to find the Gold Hill Museum and where you can order lunch will be sent to you nearer the date. \nI have chosen Gold Hill Museum as the venue for this workshop as they have an excellent display of original Dorset Buttons. I hope you will take this opportunity to view them.
