For immediate release \nInternationally Renowned Guitarists Perform in Thornford \nAn afternoon of exceptional classical guitar music will take place at Thornford Village Hall on Saturday 18 April 2026 at 3:00pm\, featuring the Serenata Guitar Trio joined by guest artist Dr Fernando Aguera. \nThe programme will include music from the Baroque era alongside Spanish and South American repertoire\, as well as music from film\, showcasing the rich colours and versatility of the classical guitar. \nThe Serenata Guitar Trio features Richard Mills\, Cobie Smit\, and John Mills\, the latter widely regarded as a living legend of the classical guitar. John Mills has enjoyed an international career spanning over five decades\, performing in more than 25 countries\, broadcasting regularly on BBC Radio 2 and 3\, and holding professorships at both the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. He made his London debut at the Wigmore Hall and studied with legendary figures including Andrés Segovia. \nJoining the trio is Dr Fernando Aguera\, an award-winning guitarist with an international background. He holds a PhD in Music from the State University of Campinas (Brazil) and a Master’s degree with Distinction from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. DESCRIPTION:The Five Valleys Run is Salisbury Motorcycle and Light Car Club’s  first charity fund raising event for 2026. Starting from the Barford Inn at Barford St Martin on Sunday April 26th at 11.00 and we will cover about 90 miles in total along Wiltshire and Dorset country roads. Refreshments are available at the start\, a pub lunch  time stop and a tea stop later in the afternoon. £10:00 Entry. £8 per entry will be donated to the club’s chosen charity for 2026. DESCRIPTION:Join Castle Hill Heritage Skills CIC at the Ancient Technology Centre\, Cranborne\, Dorset BH21 5RP for a whole weekend of heritage textile skills. \nOur experts are: \nVanessa Bunton -Puku B Historic Experiences \nSally Pointer – Sally Pointer Heritage Education \nNicole De Rushie – Grounded History \nJalea Ward – Slightly Warped Looms \nYou will have 4 sessions over the mornings and afternoons of both Saturday 30th May and Sunday 31st May 2026\nThese will be in the following heritage textile skills: \n– Back strap weaving\n– Whorls and drop spinning\n– Wet felting\n– Net making  \nTickets and additional fees \nTickets are £215.00 plus booking fee for the weekend tutoring and Saturday evening. You will have around 2 and a half hours with each textile skill and tutor to learn the history and have a go yourself. On the Saturday evening we will gather for a communal meal (additional fee TBC) and an evening gathering on Saturday night. \nTutors will also have items for sale on Saturday evening.  \nWe are working on providing an evening meal on Saturday 30th May 2026 for a small extra fee to extend your day and the community we will be created. We are still in negotiation with caterers so will email out a link to the meal at a later date. We hope all dietary requirements will be catered for\, but cannot guarantee.
