We will follow the Seashore Code to avoid causing any harm and find out what we can all do to help marine wildlife.\n\nBOOKING ESSENTIAL.\n\nWhat to bring:\n\n 	Wellies are recommended.  Alternatively\, sturdy footwear for walking across slippery rocks (no flip flops).\n 	Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day.\n 	All equipment is provided (please leave nets at home).\n\nPlease note access to the beach can be unstable and unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

DESCRIPTION:Are you a crab or a starfish? This National Marine Week come along to Kimmeridge Bay and complete a series of seashore challenges to achieve your starfish\, octopus or crab award. Challenges are a range of tasks and activities to help you discover the wildlife of Kimmeridge Bay. In order to complete the challenge you will need to hire a Seashore Explorer Pack which contains all you need. \nAccess to beach not suitable for those with limited mobility. \nPlease wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather. The beach can be wet and slippery under foot. Wellies are recommended. \n£6 per Seashore Explorer Pack (only one needed per family).

We’ll be searching for the marine wildlife which calls these shores their home\, as well as looking for the tell-tale tracks and signs of species hidden from view. Learn why this area is so important for wildlife and follow the Seashore code to help protect this special place.\n\nBOOKING ESSENTIAL.\n\nWhat to bring:\n\n 	Wellies are recommended\, alternatively wear sturdy shoes or boots that you don’t mind getting a bit wet (no flip flops).\n 	Please dress suitably for the weather conditions on the day.\n 	All equipment will be provided\n\nNo dogs permitted.\n\n£6 per adult\, £4 per child.\nChildren must be accompanied by an adult.

SUMMARY:National Marine Week: National Whale and Dolphin Watch at Portland Bill
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Portland Bill to look out for dolphins and other marine animals as part of the 2025 National Whale and Dolphin Watch. Help with our survey\, learn what signs to look for\, how to spot and identify them and find out more about the types of whale and dolphin that can be seen in Dorset.\n\nThis event is weather dependent\, please call The Fine Foundation Wild Chesil Centre if unsure.\n\nWhat to bring –\n\n 	Please bring your own binoculars if you have them\, although we will have a few pairs available to borrow. If you are planning to stay for a while\, you may want to bring a camping chair and a drink/snacks.\n 	You will need to dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day as the lookout is exposed. Sturdy shoes are recommended.\n\nDogs allowed under effective control. The lookout will be situated near a cliff edge so dogs need to be kept on a lead or under close control.\n\nFree event\, donations welcome. No booking required.
