SUMMARY:The Unknown Soldier
DESCRIPTION:Jack stayed on when the guns fell silent\, to search the battlefields for the boys that could not go home – for the dead and the missing\, for both enemy and friend. Amongst the rusty wire and unexploded bombs Jack is looking for something – looking for someone. He has a promise to keep and a debt to repay\, and now there is this strange request from the generals. \nThe Unknown Soldier is moving\, often humorous\, but above all thought provoking. It looks at the First World War from a new perspective\, through the eyes of a man who has survived the carnage but who finds it hard to return home. A story of comradeship\, betrayal and of promises both broken and kept following the carnage of World War One. Official EdFringe 2016 sell out show by award nominated writer of Casualties.

SUMMARY:The Rascally Diner by LAStheatre
DESCRIPTION:Everybody clap your pans – it’s time for The Rascally Diner! Cook up a stink as part of Rufus Skumskins O’Parsleys’ kitchen crew or bring a pot to bang and ward off evil cakes in this fun-filled\, messy performance about food\, which tours Dorset with Artsreach. \nChef Rufus Skumskins O’Parsley is famous for creating some of the world’s most disgusting dishes. You might know him from the award-winning children’s book The Rascally Cake\, written by Jeanne Willis and Korky Paul. Rufus went viral after baking a huge\, human-eating cake from ingredients including snot\, blubber and a cowpat. He only escaped being gobbled up by the gruesome gateau because he tasted awful – a result of his foul diet. SUMMARY:Great Expectations by Bristol Old Vic Theatre School
DESCRIPTION:From humble beginnings in the marshlands of Kent\, young Pip is determined to make strides in the big city and get a leg-up in society. Pip is quickly caught up in a world of compelling characters – the elderly jilted bride Miss Haversham\, the criminal Magwitch and alluring Estella. Can our ambitious protagonist realise his dreams or will life inevitably present itself with obstacles and trickery? \nAbounding in trademark Dickensian humour\, this wry coming-of-age story has been a landmark of English Literature since its publication in 1861 and continues to charm readers to this day. \nTeeming with eccentricity\, fearsome convicts\, stopped clocks\, decay and decadence\, Jo Clifford’s adaptation breathes new life into this beloved tale\, and vividly is brought to the stage by director Jenny Stephens and students from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. \nOpened in 1946 by Laurence Olivier\, the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School has grown a reputation for attracting the very best in young acting talent and\, as such\, has some notable alumni to its name including Daniel Day Lewis\, Greta Scacchi\, Peter O’Toole\, Olivia Colman and many more.
