SUMMARY:The BIG Jubilee Picnic with Ben Waters & Band in Sixpenny Handley
DESCRIPTION:We plan to recreate a traditional community street party\, with trestle tables and chairs\, on the village cricket pitch. Seating on a first come\, first served basis but there will be plenty of space if you want to bring your own chairs and rugs. \nPop-up-Produce will provide pre-ordered picnic boxes for those who do not wish to bring their own and The Penny Tap will be open all afternoon serving liquid refreshments. Orders need to be placed by Friday 27 May. \nThere will be children’s and adult workshops as well as various other activities and stalls running during the afternoon. We will also be doing something a bit special to mark the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s reign. \nTo top it all off\, we are super excited to have booked boogie-woogie piano player Ben Waters and his band of top rock ‘n’ roll session musicians who will play from 3.00 – 5.00 pm. Amongst others\, they’ve played with The Rolling Stones\, Ronnie Wood\, Jeff Beck\, Van Morrison\, Paul McCartney\, Eric Clapton\, Page and Plant and Chuck Berry and now they’re coming to Sixpenny Handley – how lucky are we! \nTickets costing £10 for adults (under 18s are free but a ticket is required for entry) are available via Eventbrite at: https://tinyurl.com/4x23dc9v (NB no booking fee) or from Clarkes the Butcher\, 55 High Street\, Sixpenny Handley. SUMMARY:Wincanton Town Festival [WTF] presents 'Jubilee' - a lively  intimate celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
DESCRIPTION:WTF and Greening the eARTh gallery commissioned local\ncraft business Bootmakers to run workshops within Wincanton’s\ntwo primary schools and hence created over 500 ‘postage stamp\ncrowns’ artworks that have been crafted entirely from found\nmaterials. These unique artworks will be exhibited for the month\nof June at the central location of Greening the eARTh gallery and\nother shops located on Wincanton’s High Street.\nIn addition to this art exhibition WTF will play host to a\nfestival style garden party within the walls of the enchanting\nwalled garden that date back to the 18th century. Within these\nbucolic walls the public will experience a lively array of world\nmusic\, art workshops\, demonstrations\, food and drink. The public\nwill be invited to bring along a picnic if they so desire.
