SUMMARY:Choral Evensong
DESCRIPTION:You are warmly invited to our monthly cathedral-style service of Choral Evensong on Saturday 22nd October at 4.30pm in St Peter’s Church\, Dorchester. To mark the 150th anniversary of Vaughan Williams’s birth\, the service includes hymn tunes by the composer as well as ‘O taste and see’ as the introit. Other music includes: Sumsion ‘Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in G’\, Ayleward ‘Preces & Responses’ and Ireland ‘Greater love hath no man’. Peter Nardone is at the organ and Ian Davis directing. Please join us for a glass of wine after the service.

SUMMARY:An Autumn Elegy
DESCRIPTION:University Music’s Orchestra and Choirs present An Autumn Elegy at 7.30pm on Saturday 29th October in Christchurch Priory. The programme includes Rutter’s Requiem\, Chilcott’s Canticles of Light and\, in recognition of the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth\, Vaughan Williams ever popular The Lark Ascending. Our violinist soloist will be Nivedita Sarnath who\, having studied at the Royal Academy of Music\, The Boston Conservatory and Harvard University\, is now a member of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Our soprano soloist will be Verity Joy who is a current undergraduate student at Arts University Bournemouth. Please join us for what promises to be a fantastic evening of music in the wonderful surroundings of the Priory.
